Felix Bogado Esq. 18 de Julio Asución, Paraguay Phone: +595-21 300273 Email: it@sumando.org.py Project's Primary Objective: Strengthen formal and transitional education systems that encourage working children and those at risk of working to attend school. Description of Organization: SUMANDO's mission is to support democratization of the country through education and the coordination of the efforts of other organizations and/or programs with such goal. SUMANDO has four programs, and each one designs and executes projects according to its objectives and respective areas of influence: 1. Participation of the community, 2. Distance education, 3. Banco Paraguayo de Voluntarios, and 4. Research and development. Description of Project funded by CIRCLE: SUMANDO's CIRCLE project will provide fellowships to adolescents, who will return the expenses through social services. To this end, the NGO will manage a system to take into account their time availability and practical possibilities, as well as their personal aims, in order to enable the youths to truly benefit themselves, their peers and their own communities. In attaining this goal, SUMANDO will collaborate with other organizations that direct their efforts to similar purposes, by contributing with their experience and knowledge. The specific training will be carried out through the human resources and endowments of the Tutorial Center of Fernando de la Mora. SUMANDO will also work with employers and expects to obtain contributions from them as well: they will be asked not only for approval but for real encouragement, so as to make it possible for the youngsters to engage successfully in the educational project.
